What the app collects

Email and account ID

Used to sign you in, and to link usage statistics to your account.

Gear, kits, trips, debriefs, rules and item photos

Synced if you have an account. Without one, they stay on your device.

Precise trip location

The place you choose, or “My location”, is kept with the trip if you have an account.

Messages to support

What you send us, including through “Give feedback” in the app.

App usage statistics

They show us how the app is used.

One-off AI processing

The app sends data to a third-party AI provider only with your permission, asked before the first send. You can withdraw it at any time in Account → Data → “AI analysis”. What was already sent cannot be recalled.

Gear recognition

The photos and dictated text you submit. Dictation is recognized on the device when iOS allows it. Without an account, these requests are limited per day; we count them with a hash of your network address, never the address itself.

Pack advice

With an account, when you ask for advice on a trip: your current bag (item names, categories, quantities), the trip’s duration, felt temperature, rain, distance and elevation, and for up to three past outings their name, date, how you felt, the conditions observed, your consumables verdicts, unused or missing items and your outing note.

What the website collects

Launch waitlist

If you sign up, we keep your email, language, the part of the site you signed up from and the date, to send you one email at launch. Your address is never sent to analytics.

Website statistics

We measure page views, clicks and errors, and build click heatmaps. IP addresses are not stored.

Statistics cookie

Our statistics tool stores a visitor identifier in a cookie and in your browser, to recognize returning visits. To object, write to contact@gearpulse.app.

Your preferences

The site remembers your language and theme on your device.

Who processes your data

We rely on service providers who process data on our behalf. You can ask for their names at contact@gearpulse.app.

What we never do

No advertising. No selling of data. No tracking across apps or websites.

Published kits

A published kit becomes a public page, reachable by anyone with the link. Your notes stay private; item photos appear on it.

You can remove the page from the kit at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data by writing to contact@gearpulse.app. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

You delete your account directly in the app; the steps are on the Support page. This removes your trips, kits, gear, rules, photos and published kits.

Transfers outside the European Union
